I have been interested in pool since 1967. My grandfather bought a 7' table from Sears, and put it in his basement. I would spend hours there playing my brother, practicing, and eventually playing grandpa when I got good enough. By 1972 I was consistently beating grandpa- though I was only 12 years old. My interest waned a bit in the late 70's and early 80's when the Game-to-play changed from pool to foosball. When we moved to NC in 1983, foosball was fading and I turned back to pool. Since then, I have played in many leagues, local tournaments, and qualified for the US Amateur in 2005 by finishing in the top 6 of the Qualifying Tournament. I have had teams qualify for the Vegas VNEA National Tournament in 2007 and 2008. In 2008 our team made the finals board and finished in 65th.
